I once paid for a client's site to have some submissions but then started seeing all these really low grade, rubbishy directory links coming through and panicked as I was scared this could actually hurt their serps. I ended up not clicking on half the "click to authorise" links and stuck instead to a few niche directories that I did by hand. Do directory submissions really do any good in the serps?
