How to download Facebook photo albums of friends and yourself

If you want to download pictures from internet its easy as right clicking on it -> Save Image as But if you want to download lots of pictures like facebook album it wont be easy to right click on every one and saving it.

There are many apps,software’s are designed to help you with this issue. One is FBdownloader thats the most popular one but I found that its not convenient as it should be. You should give your fb login credentials to use it and you can only download your frinds photos and your photos but even to download your friends photo albums, they must have set the albums are public and even when you can view it on web browser fbdownloader wont allow to download photo albums of your friends if they marked them as “Private” or “Friends only” . So its not a good option.

And when I was searching for the most convenient and easy solution I found great Google Chrome extension for doing this.

However Im using firefox for browsing but I have chrome and use it sometimes so it being a chrome extension isn’t much a problem to me. You can find the extension and install from here- https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/blbmhonenddnnmbailokbccgmikhkpni

Instruction on that page says this-

Usage:

1. Link to the album on your facebook page.

2. Click the “Download FB phtos” Icon.

3. You will see all photos on a new tab.

4. Press “Ctrl+S” and select “Save whole pages”.

5. Great! You will see a folder including all the photos in this album.

However as the instruction says you need to open up the album on your chrome browser and click the download photos icon which is located on your right corner of address bar.

All other steps are easy to follow and you will have the ability to download any photo album that you can view on web browser unlike the limitations of fbdownloder

How to record skype video calls

Having some special unforgettable skype video calls? Then you might be interested in recording those video calls for later reference. There is a perfect solution for it called “SuperTinTin” yeah I know it sounds weird but does the thing.

However its a premium software which means you have pay for it. But there is a trial version. Trial version got all the options but it got 5 minute record limit. But thats not a problem, when it finishes recording 5 minutes it will stop but you can start recording again instantly by pressing the RED button. There is no limitations between records on the free version.So for me free version is completely Okay. Its about recording the call and as soon as first 5 minutes finishes press record button again and it will start to record again vice-versa

I have personally tested this and

It records videos of both cams on picture in picture or any method that you set
Records sounds of both sides
No Quality degradation on recorded videos. It records same as what you see on skype and saves on .AVI format

Cloudberry Explorer review

You may have seen my post Amazon S3 review. Looks like it went viral and some famous amazon s3 managing software vendors commented on that post and some vendors sent emails to me asking to review them. Nadya from Cloudberry Explorer is one them. She asked me to review cloudberry explorer, Since I love freewares and I was using cloudberry explorer already to manage my S3 instances I thought I should write a review about them.

I begun to use Amazon S3 last year and now its more than 1 year since I’m using amazon s3 to hold files for my web sites. And on the first day I signed up for amazon s3 I felt in need of a nice and fast interface to manage my files on s3. Main reason for that is Amazon AWS Console is too slow and the the console slowness is a common fact on amazon aws. They need to work on that or provide native pc/mac client to manage s3 and other AWS services.

Because of those problems I searched Google for a nice amazon s3 managing software. And first I got firefox addon called S3Fox and it wasn’t worked for me for some reason. And I even tried the limited freeware called S3 Browser and the limitations of the free version moved my hands away from using that.

Finally I found the Cloudberry explorer and from the first impression I was amazed and simply it turned out that this is the one and only thing that I need to manage all things with my amazon s3.

With cloudberry Explorer its very easy to upload files to amazon s3 and manage them as you see with the image above. When I upload images to s3 for the purpose of posting them on web Cloudberry explorer came in handy because there is a option to generate the web link within the software and its really a time saver to me because after upload the image I can get the link by just 3 mouse clicks.

So really cloudberry explorer is really a nice software which did everything that I expected and I needed. There is a advanced pro version and I really recommend buying the pro version for advanced options and as props to these guys. Its really worth it but if you are just a regular user to tight in budget the free version is more than fine!

Employ your Android devices gyroscope! Shaky tower!

Have your ever wondered about the tiny little gyroscope thingy on your mobile phone? If you studied physics little bit on school you might already know that gyroscope is kinda amazing device.

Actually there are only very few apps which uses your amazing gyroscope sensor. One is Google Sky Map but ill leave it there because there is no much fun on it than using gyroscope to navigate on maps.

But there is a great game called Shaky Tower on android market which employs your gyroscope and taking best work out it it and best thing is its free.

I’m not going to review this game here but just wanted to let you know that this is a great game like ANGRY BIRDS what…?

I have played it on my galaxy S vibrant and I must admit that this is great game! But because it needs steady hands its almost impossible to play while you are on bumpy vehicle ride or whenever your hands shaking I think that might not be deal breaker to you but that’s the nature of the game.

Chinaman! Best soundboard Ever! Prank call superstar

This is hilarious and I cant stop laughing watching these videos and this soundboard makes me think of making some prank calls

So whats this all about?

You heard about prank calls right? But most of them aren’t make us laugh they are boring sometimes. But believe me this “Chinaman” never made me boring listening to his calls on youtube.

To be more informative there is a thing called soundboard. Nothing magic but its a like little program which makes sounds when you click specific buttons on the board. Just like the buttons on Organs (key board) make drum sounds when you click them. So in this example sounds can belong to some popular characters speech. Which lets you sound like that person.

So in this prank call world there are many soundboards can be found which makes sounds or speech phrases of popular persons like Micheal Jackson etc.

Easiest way to make prank calls is using your PC because you can easily let other party hear your soundboards sounds without hooking anything up to your PC to your Phone’s microphone. You can use skype or any kind of VOIP software for this.

Take a look at embedded soundboard on top ( Its property of www.realmofdarkness.net ). Thats the best soundboard for prank calls which I ever found. When you click on the phrases it makes sounds. Actually you need some practice before making real prank calls using this because it needs sometime to remember where are the correct phrases to answer to other party immediately when you are on the call.

My god this is hilarious! I cant stop laughing hearing this chinaman!

Add watermark to images on wordpress

If you are a blogger and posts nice images on your posts you might have saw that google image search is bringing some traffic to your web site. And your images gets downloaded by readers and gets posted on other websites without even knowing you! Watermarking your images is nice way to get some traffic and reduce robbing your unique pictures!

If you are using wordpress there is simple but nice plugin to do the trick without wasting your time to manually watermark all the pictures!

Plugin is called- Watermark Reloaded

This plugin is simple and will watermark all the images that you post! The one and only disadvantage is it watermarks smaller images too means even you add 250*250 pixel image this plugin will watermark it too like big image. So thats slight disadvantage! But comes in handy if you want to automate everything!

wordpress emails not working? Server IP blacklisted? Fix it free!

If you are running wordpress in your vps or dedicated and if you are newbie to linux it will be hard to fix if something goes wrong.

Also if your server is sending thousands of emails per day with wordpress and got blacklisted on gmail,yahoo accounts it will be real pain. And you will need to move to new ip or work to get new ip assigned to your server.

But there is a nice way of fixing things if you got php send mail function not working or ip blacklist problems. Actually I recommend this even you didn’t got such problems because risk of getting blacklisted will be solved by doing this!

Ok whats the solution?

Its simple there is a wordpress plugin called “WP Mail SMTP” and you can use it to easily configure wordpress to use external email provider who support SMTP functions like gmail,google apps to send your wordpress emails such as new comment notifications.

Search it on your wordpress plugin installer and install it! There is a nice page to manage all the options

Configuration panel makes it very easy to configure all the options!

In this example im using google apps for my email and look at the settings. If you are using gmail or google apps settings are same from my setup except user name and password ( Of course )

After adding your config try by sending text email so you can verify if this works or not! Actually this plugin is very nice if you are running in to problems with your server email functions!

Text editor for programmers notepad++

Editing simple HTML or PHP script with notepad is not actually very good practice because editing large code pages such as big CSS table is very hard with notepad even with “Word wrap” .
And if you are on Windoze making linux bash scripts on notepad is terrible because it doesn’t saves unix bash script correctly so makes it impossible to execute in linux environment.

There is a freeware called notepad++ which makes editing your various scripts very easy and and also eye candy.

notepad++ has some crazy plethora of saving options to choose from. I didn’t even heard some of the file types in my life!

I receive vast amount of traffic daily to that post! And I have written the whole procedure to unlock huawei HSDPA modems on that post. If you read it you will see it. And a part of it is calculating the unlock code for the specific huawei modem and the whole procedure is there.

But people keeps asking me how to calculate the unlock code and I recieve at least 2 comments daily asking the unlock code Finally I made the calculating part highlighted !

Why cant they calculate code themselves by reading the steps its briefly explained there?

Yes that’s my question. Answer it if you can!

My Favourite Whois checker tool

Ok This might be not new thing to you. There are many whois checkers on internet to check the identity information and registration information of domain names. Most of them only provides domain registrant info and registration time period.
Other few provides some other information such as server information that the domain hosted etc. But the problem is most of those advanced whois checkers require to fill captcha form or filling some kind of identity form to check a domain. This is little bit boring and hard if you want to check many domains a day.

There is a handy tool to check all the domain registration information and hosted server information its whois.domaintools.com

Whois.domaintools.com provides great information about domain names. You can register there for free and then you can query unlimited amount of domains without filling Captcha puzzles or boring steps.

Only you have to do is add the domain name that you want to check after whois.domaintools.com/

Such as if you want to check www.ruchirablog.com whois info and server info you need to add ruchirablog.com after /

ex- whois.domaintools.com/ruchirablog.com and it will display all the data that external source can obtain.

Its very handy tool to check many information available to public! I like it because simplicity ( Dont have to fill capthca puzzles mainly)
