On my previous post I wrote about how to unlock huawei modem models. So there is another great option in most of Huawei new HSDPA modems (In cheaper models too) . Today I will show you how to actviate voice calling feature hidden on your huawei medem. I have used E156G and it works on this models too. Huawei E156 / E156B / E156C / E156G
First of all you need to download this piece of small software to check if your modem suports voice calls ( No matter if the feature disabled in factory settings we are going to activate it. So its worth to check)

And run it after installing.Make sure to exit Mobile partner otherwise the software wont detect the HSPA modem. And after opening it click scan. it will then display the details of the plugged huawei modem like this-
Look there is a option called Voice Feature. In this screen shot it shows enabled because I already enabled it. In your computer it will show Disabled if your have voice calling option if not it will show Not supported.
So if your software shows Voice Feature – Disabled then its the time to enable it. Click the option called Server in the DC-Unlocker software. It can unlock your locked modem too but it require 20 euros. But it doesnt require money to enable voice feature.
In the user name and password field enter these-
Username- Free
Password- Voice
Then click “check login”. SO DC-Unlocker will login free to unlock voice feature. Like this-
Then browse to “Unlocking” section of DC-Unlocker client and click “Activate Voice”. then it will unlock your voice calling feature! 
Wait there some other things to done in software section too. You need to update to Voice calling version of mobile partner software because 95% of modems come without voice calling Mobile partner version. Download the voice calling version here- http://www.dc-unlocker.com/downloads/get/LihV26NW
Warning you are going to flash your Huawei modem with this new version. your current connection profile settings will be lost because of new update. And always remember to update the firmware in a steady power sourced computer. Because if your computer gets stuck or powerloss when updating firmware ( which will take 5~15mins) your modems firmware will be corrupted. So be sure you have steady power source to use with your computer when flashing.
After downloading the New Mobile Partner firmware run it and it will update your current firmware. Voila you have new Mobile parnter with voice calling feature like this!

It worked wonderfully,
but when i insert the modem into my PC, (3 UK modem), i do still get the 3 Software of that company running!
I close it and then i go to my desktop and click on Mobile Partner and then the beautiful blue screen comes up.
Is there anyway i can permenently remove the 3 software from this modem completely and just have that mobile partner runs as a default?!

Its no longer free! Now you have to pay for the software!
This is not Mobile Partner firmware that you can flash. It’s only connection manager that you can install on your computer, but not flash your modem.
When I try click on the Activate Voice button .. following error was thrown n not unlocked….

i followed the procedure to enable voice calls on E1552 and updated to given mobile partner, tested once and it worked then when i redailed, it couldn’t respond. To test again with dc unlocker Voice was disabled again. Now problem access denied. Is there any other way to enable voice calls. Yes you cant hear the sound means that modem is locked on voice part. This guide to unlock it is not working now because now its paid software.

Ill definitely test new things if I got a HSPA modem now. but unfortunately I dont have a modem to test things out so I dont like to post with confidence without doing it myself!

actually even without unlocking voice you should be able to make calls but you cant hear or tell something to other side. Looks like your sim calling function disabled!

I dont recommend using third party modified software versions because it can contain virus!

go to mobilepartner’s installation folder find out the file SysSetting.xml and do this modification open it in notepad and find the phrace call and change 0 to 1 now u can get a video call from u’r pc

the network i use needs to dial *100# to check credit balance
it dials but in the phone the reply is displayed in the screen…
but how do i know the balance after i dial the cod in this software as it does not show anything?

You need to dial the numbers in USSD prompt. There is option called USSD in huawei mobile partner. It will display the credits and other such thing like on phone! If you dont have USSD option upgrade your mobile partner.

Thank you for the quick response! So I would like to use the USB modem as a phone for voice calls, from a software. So when I click on a button in my application, it dials the number, and using the computer mic and speaker, the user can talk with the other party. Basically the same functionality as the Voice modem some years ago.

This functionality is already in the mobile partner software! You can dial the number and get calls using your PC mic and speakers. Also you can receive calls and you can assign ring tones too!

well for now there is no API for mobile partner or huawei modems. You will need to reverse engineer mobile partner or request codes from huawei! They might help you!

i have a query… my e160 modem (which is HSPDA/3G spec) is only working at 2G speed (i.e 5-10KBps or 40-80kbps) both on BSNL 3G SIM or DOCOMO 3G SIM…. Do i need to make some settings for it to work at 3G speed?? I have searched lot of forums on google but in vain..

maybe you dont getting 3g signal! Check with mobile phone to verify you getting 3g signal or not! Still India got very poor 3g coverage so I guess thats the problem!
