      weel you cant do anything in software side to speedup your connection How ever if you are getting low signal strength there some methods to improve it! Search google! :)

    but i have a different issue there’s a phone from Nokia 2690. how can i get the restrictions off?

      Thanks for the kudos :)
      I think those 2690 and older series nokia phones need software mods to unlock which means you need to take it to repair shop. I dont know its possible to unlock locally you can search google for that!

      please add your comment in right section! if you are using centos 5.5 it wont work. Use centos 5.4 to install the script and then upgrade to 5.5 !
      However I recommend to use ubuntu 10.04

    hi friend,
    I had a problem with unlocking Huawei e1550.As i had calculated both flash code and unlock code and entered the unlock code for 10 times now it is showing that (only specified Sim / usim can be used in the device ).

    now what can i do to unlock my modem and use other Sim in my modem..

    I gotthe unlock codes from your site whiich builds them and downloaded your huawei-code-writer software..
    but when i open the software,it detects the modem but when i click on unlock modem,the software hangs for several minutes until i close it and i don’t get the option of entering the unlock code..

        even if i restart the computer it does the same thing…
        am using the software on windows 7 ,maybe the software is not compatible with windows 7.
        am stack at the point and yet i want to unlock the modem…

            I tried it out on windows xp and it opened and gave me an option of unlocking the modem but when i enter the unlock code got from your unlocking codes site it brings an error message.
            the error is ,:sending unlock code ERROR”
            so what problem is there now?

      the answer to that is turn off the internet and then the firewall and antivirus and watch the software doing wonders.

    Dear Ruchaira
    I found your blog very interesting, I Huawei E180 Modem, it is working fine both in HSDPA and EDGE mode for 1 operator ( I am in KSA, So my modem working for Mobily 2G/3G Network operator). But when i insert the SIM of other operator i-e STC it can only be connected in Edge mode. for HSDPA it give Error ” the port is closed”. I tried to use your unlocking technique. but it is give error after i put the 8-digit unlock code and execute the unlock modem command.
    I need your support in this regard.
