$15 dedicated servers from OVH

by Ruchira on November 27, 2012

While most of VPS providers are trying hard to stay in the business with their sub $5 VPS plans, OVH which is the worlds biggest consumer data center located in France is now ( uh for sometime ) offering $15 a month dedicated servers. While OVH has data center in Canada, this cheap offering is only available in their home country which is France. You can absolutely trust this company and its not going to go away anytime soon. OVH has a crazy big network than most other big data centers you can imagine of, and quality of the network is improved drastically over the years.

You can find the plans here . I went with the 9.99 euro kimsufi MKS 2G plan. Web site is in french google chrome’s auto translate comes to rescue here 🙂 .

Dont get turned turned down by that 1.2Ghz+ Celeron/Atom processor listed on that MKS 2G plan. Most fasinating thing is that more than 75% people I have seen who ordered this plan are getting the Atom N2800 processor listed on that KS-R-4G plan. As you can see they are saying 1.2Ghz+ for the MKS-2G plan that means the minimum is that and I have even seen people who got Core2Duo’s with MKS-2G, it all depends on your luck.

Order approval process can be bit tough so keep your identity card or drivers license ready and the setup times are about 48 hours but I was able to get one without any trouble and in about 14 hours from ordering. You can get the VAT removed if you ask them (of course if you are outside of EU ) so it becomes under $15.

Luckily I also got the Atom N2800 which got 2 cores and 4 threads. OVH’s everything is automated you can reinstall OS / perform soft, hard reboots and do everything like on a VPS. I got the Ubuntu remote desktop installed, There are several templates available such as BSD,Windows. And I have no trouble on pushing the 100Mbps connection to its limit and OVH doesn’t count your incoming traffic.

Atom N2800 1.8Ghz , 2GB RAM, 500GB HDD, 5TB bandwidth for just 15 bucks. Definitely you cant go wrong 🙂 grab yours from here http://www.kimsufi.com/fr/index.xml
